Art Deco Interiors That Will Inspire You to Design Boldly
Art Deco interiors showcase luxury and elegance with a youthful modern feel. Use your space to pay tribute to the roaring 1920s through the 1940s with Art Deco design throughout your house or in specific rooms. These Art Deco interiors will inspire you to design boldly without looking back.
History
Originating in France in the mid-to-late 1910s, Art Deco characteristic can be found in art, architecture, fashion and most importantly, interior design. It represents a lifestyle of wealth and sophistication that came along with the stylized roaring 20s.
According to The Art Story, “Art Deco was a direct response aesthetically and philosophically to the Art Nouveau style and to the broader cultural phenomenon of modernism.” Moving towards a new era of artistic innovation, Art Deco offered something new and exciting.
As midcentury style started to gain traction in the 1940s and 50s, Art Deco lost some of its popularity. Later in the 60s it would become nostalgic and we would start seeing a reemergence with new, modernized interruptions.
Now, Art Deco inspiration is seen throughout interior design styles with its geometric shapes, stand-out patterns, bold colors and strong lines. You can even find hints of Art Deco inspiration in Panacche’s very own Mid Century Modern meets GLAM! and Dark Modern Home Office designs.
